More than 400 students joined the UniDash prelaunch. We launch officially on Tuesday 13 October, in freshers' first week, and we're aiming for 1,500 students by the end of the month.
The demo
On 7 October we posted a 60-second product demo on TikTok, and it went viral straight away. Students loved the idea, shared it with their friends and couldn't wait to try UniDash for themselves.

The difference
Most delivery apps can only sell you what a merchant already uploaded. Campus doesn't work like that. The best food is at a spot with no menu, the printer is in a hall, and half of what you need is a favour, not a product.
So UniDash starts with one box and one rule: name the item, the price and the place. A student near that place buys it and brings it.

How it works
Everything starts from the box on the home screen, and nothing is hidden behind a signup wall.
Give a detailed description of your order: name of food, number of packs, store or restaurant name.
Enter the items amount, where the items are to be bought and where they're to be delivered.
Every verified courier whose range covers the pickup gets your order. The ones who want it offer, and you pick one.
Your courier buys it with their own money. Pay with MoMo once they've picked it up, read out your PIN at the door, then rate.
No offers after five minutes? Couriers who live near the pickup get a nudge to come online.
Discover
Discover lists the markets, food spots and shops on your campus, with their menus and prices. Tap a dish and it lands in your order box, priced, so there's nothing to retype.

While it's on the way
Every stage updates in real time — Queued, Accepted, Picked Up, In Transit, Delivered — with push notifications, so you don't have to keep the app open during a lecture.

Waakye, jollof, banku, kelewele, a cold bottle from the nearest shop — from the joints with no menu online.
Rice, gari, milo, soap, sachet water — a full provisions run without leaving your room.
Lecture slides, past questions, binding, a new pen five minutes before a quiz.

Pricing
No surge pricing. No mystery "small order fee". No number that changes between the checkout screen and your MoMo prompt. You see the full breakdown before you place the order, and the same breakdown after.
Items paid up-front by your courier
Courier is refunded the GH₵33.00 they spent, plus 92% of the delivery fee. UniDash's cut is the service fee and 8% of delivery — no markup on your items.

The student economy
Working through university is normal in the US and Europe: campus cafés, library desks, delivery runs between classes. At most African universities those jobs barely exist, and the students who most need an income have the fewest ways to earn one.
UniDash turns the errands a campus already runs into paid work for students. Go online when your timetable has a gap and offline when it doesn't. Nobody sets your hours but you.
Money that stays on campus
A student orders, a campus vendor makes the sale, and a student delivers it. The courier keeps 92% of the delivery fee and gets back every cedi spent on the items, paid straight to MoMo. Money a campus spends on errands ends up in students' pockets.
With the KNUST SRC
We've been in talks with the KNUST Students' Representative Council about supporting our work to create earning opportunities for students on campus.
The idea is simple. A student who needs an income shouldn't have to leave campus or skip lectures to find one. It should be a tap away, on the campus they already study on.
For couriers
Switch to courier mode and tap Set Your Status. Drop a pin where you are, choose how far you'll go — 50, 200 or 400 metres — and orders inside that range come to you. No shifts, no minimum hours, no manager. Between two lectures is a valid work day.
When an order lands
A new order in your range takes over the screen with what you'd earn, where it's from, where it's going and what's on it. Tap Offer to Deliver, and if the customer picks you, go. You get a two-minute head start, and anything you let pass stays open on your Queued tab.

Every month, each campus gets one leaderboard, and customers and couriers share it. Every order you place earns 2 heat. Every delivery you make earns 1. It resets on the first, so a good month is always one month away.

Trust & safety
Deliveries run between strangers who share a campus. That only works if the boring parts — verification, payments, permissions — are taken seriously.
Couriers submit a student ID for review before they can take a single order. Approval is manual, not automatic.
Mobile money and cards run through Paystack, a PCI-DSS certified processor. Card details never touch UniDash servers.
Roles, balances, transactions and ratings can only be written by our servers, never by a phone. A modified app can't award itself money or stars.
If something goes wrong mid-run, couriers can file photo evidence in-app so disputes are settled with facts, not arguments.
Rate every delivery. Scores are worked out on our servers and shown live on every offer, so you can compare couriers before you choose.
Delete your account and its data from inside the app — or from this site. No email chain, no retention games.

Anything a student can legally buy and carry from a place on your campus — food, groceries, printing, pharmacy items, stationery, a parcel from the porter, or a small errand. You describe it in your own words in the box on the home screen, so you aren't limited to places that have uploaded a menu. Discover is there when you'd rather browse.
No. Give a rough items amount when you place the order so your courier knows the budget. If you entered a lower price than the shop charges, your courier will call you and you can top up on your order card. If you feel cheated, you can request cancellation of the order.
Delivery is priced by distance: it starts at GH₵5 for the shortest runs and levels off as distance grows, so it never goes above GH₵20. A typical 1 km delivery is about GH₵11. On top of that is a service fee of GH₵1 per order plus 2.5% of what your items cost. Your items cost exactly what the shop charged — UniDash adds no markup on them. The full breakdown appears before you place the order.
Once your courier has bought your items and marked the order picked up — not when you place it. Couriers front the cost of your items with their own money, so pay promptly when the app asks. Paying is also what unlocks your delivery PIN.
Mobile money — MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash or AirtelTigo Money — or a bank card. Everything runs through Paystack. No cash changes hands, so neither you nor your courier has to worry about change.
After you place an order, every verified courier whose range covers the pickup is alerted. The ones who want it offer, and each offer shows their rating, orders completed and average delivery time. Tap the one you want and they start straight away. You can only pick a courier who offered.
Your order stays open and keeps searching even if you close the app — we'll notify you when an offer comes in. After five minutes, couriers who live near the pickup get a nudge to come online. If nobody takes it, we'll let you know at the half-hour mark, and the order leaves the queue after an hour. You can cancel any time before a courier is chosen.
Check your order card for the latest status. If something looks wrong, email unidashsupport@gmail.com with your order details and we'll look into it.

You keep 92% of the delivery fee — UniDash takes an 8% commission — and you're fully reimbursed for whatever you spent on the customer's items. Payouts are instant: UniDash pays you from its own float rather than making you wait for the payment processor to settle.
The service fee is charged to the customer and never comes out of your side.
You pick your campus the moment you open the app, and everything — places, couriers, the leaderboard — is scoped to it. We're expanding campus by campus rather than switching on a whole country at once. If UniDash isn't live where you study, email us and tell us where you are.
Payments are processed by Paystack, which is PCI-DSS certified — card details never reach UniDash's servers. Sensitive records like roles, balances, transactions and ratings can only be written by our backend, so a tampered app can't grant itself money or stars. You can delete your account and data from inside the app at any time.
